Investment Advisor
Having spent more than two decades in investment management and capital markets, Rishi is an experienced investment advisor skilled in developing tax-smart investment and wealth management solutions. As founder of Rishi Raj Wealth Management, he oversees portfolio design and management for all of our clients, developing portfolio models, conducting market research, and meeting with clients to ensure that their portfolios are aligned with their individual needs and goals.
Rishi is passionate about providing our clients with a full “family office” experience and is constantly exploring new opportunities to optimize our service offerings. He believes that simplicity, transparency, integrity and a superior service offering are paramount to any client-advisor relationship and strives to provide clients with a solution-based approach that aligns with their changing financial needs. For Rishi, continual engagement and communication are vital to a strong working relationship.
Prior to starting his own practice in 2015, Rishi managed a $1.8 billion institutional-style portfolio at a large energy company, and has previously worked in corporate finance and business development, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Rishi holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and International Marketing from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Strategy from Queen’s University.
Outside of work, Rishi enjoys playing golf, squash, tennis, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Associate Advisor
An integral part of Rishi Raj Wealth Management since 2018, Kanwar brings a strong research background and passion for the markets to his role as an associate advisor. On a day-to-day basis, he is involved in portfolio modelling and management, market research, financial projections, trading, and more. Kanwar holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Calgary and has completed several other industry courses, including the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) Course, and the Wealth Management Essentials (WME) Course. In April 2024, Kanwar become a CFA Charterholder.
Outside of work, Kanwar is an avid basketball fan, and can often be found watching NBA games or coaching children’s basketball at YMCA Calgary.
